Gillian has over 40 years' experience in hand knitting and crochet, having learned to do both as a small child. For two years she authored the BellaOnline Knitting Site and has assisted with teaching beginners in the Notting Hill Knitting Group and the London Stitch and Bitch Group.

She is an expert paperfolder and has had a number of her designs published in convention packs by Origami USA, the British Origami Society and Orison.

She authored the BellaOnline Tatting Site from February 2002 until July 2006 and produced many original designs, some of which can be found on her personal web site. She also has many years' experience in making bobbin lace, and published two designs in the UK magazine Cross Stitcher in the early 1990s.

Gillian currently writes for the BellaOnline Classical Music Site, thus making good use of her Honours Degree in the subject from Liverpool University, and can often be found playing World of Warcraft or Neopets in her spare time! In her day job she works as a medical secretary and assists with disability policy in the Staff Disability Equality Group.
